I'm only 20 but I've recently discovered cider having been put off by my school days .

Kopparberg, Magners, Bulmers, Strongbow...

All acting as them selves with total different tastes, hmmm fantastic stuff.

Anyone recommend anything else that may well send my taste buds into a frenzy?

If you're trying all sorts, you've got to try a bit of a British classic "Scrumpy Jack".

Seems to be the marmite of cider.

It's all about the pear ciders, St helier's is one of favourites. The new Magners pear is pretty nice but by house mate swears by the Brothers Festival Edition pear cider.

There's so many out there, just try a different one every time till you find one you love.

scrumpy jack is great! a nice strongish cider. i like the festival strength brothers pear cider too. (a sort of trend there lol)

i mentioned in the summer drinks thread about the strongbow jacques fruit cider, get the whitish looking one, its awesome straight out the fridge. you cannot beat it for being refreshing!

avoid blackthorn like the clapp, if you're anything like me, i get a stonking headache the next day on that stuff! :p

i dont agree with putting ice in cider though.. its not right imo.

You've got to try Jacques fruit cider - choice of 2 flavours. Don't let the posh looking bottle put you off.

It's not as fizzy (more sparkling) as Magners or Kopparberg so you definitely feel less gassy afterwards.

Haha you guessed it!

I'll never forget getting drunk one year with a mate aged about 15-16? at home on the farm sitting in a field on the silage bales.

I'd managed to persuade my mum to buy two 2.5 or 3 litre bottles of White Lightning of whatever lidl call the stuff.

My mate had managed to get a 1 litre bottle of aldi cider aswell, we drank the bottle of Aldi cider between us early on watching tv then proceeded to consume a bottle of Lidls rocket fuel each..

The result? Barely being able to walk the 100mtr trek to the front door.. and vomiting constantly throughout the early hours, followed by the worst hangover ever which lasted all the next day. NEVER AGAIN!! :p

I've only Tried Magners/Bulmers since, and barely drink now. I'll have to get my hands on some of the other Stuff.. Pear Cider sounds nice
