Cigar Aficionados

For those not in the know, it's a box of 25 Cohiba Esplendidos, regarded by many as the daddy of cigars. After being offered these at a price I couldn't refuse...well I couldn't refuse. I needed something to fill the new humidor (thanks Bear!) after all. It's a 2002 box so they are already about 6 years old so should be perfectly ripe for smoking now but I'll keep half of them for a good while longer.

Nice, the Cohibas should smoke well. Looks like you got the same humidor as me, damn good price compared with what it costs to get something similar over here.

I smoked my first cigar at the Club Tropicana in Havana, had a wondferful time in Cuba. Enjoy.

Just got back and I have to say that it was an excellent two weeks, particularly in Vinales, where we were smoking with the tobacco farmers as they rolled their own in the fields.

I've managed to bring back:

25 RyJ Churchills of my brother in law
25 Montecristo no 4 for a mate who is getting married
25 Montecristo no 4 for me
5 Vegas Robaina Famosos for me
9 RyJ Romeo No 3 Tubos (gifts)
9 Montecristo Petit Tubos (gifts)

Then another 40 non branded rolled in the fields jobs of various shapes, sizes and flavours.

All in all £300 well spend I think.

One of the blokes I was with managed to get 25 black market Cohiba Siglo III for less than £30. If they were fakes then they were close enough to the real thing to be worth the cash.

Have you got throat/lung cancer yet Scuzi, looks like your getting through quite a few cigars!

I have the 'odd one' once every two years perhaps. Much nicer to smoke when they are well matured.

Nice humidifier.

I think it's mouth cancer with cigars generally as you don't/shouldn't inhale very much at all.

I've only had the Romeo Y Juliet my boss bought everyone one on a night out. It was actually very nice a very different experience to smoking cigarettes of course. Would like to start having them now and again.

I notice from those pics that you also dabble in a bit of pipe smoking Scuzi? I've got a cheapy one at home with some tobacco from the local tobacconists, but I essentially don't know that much about what's good and bad tobacco and pipe-wise. Got any suggestions?
Great humidors and cigar stockpiles there guys :)

Bumpy bumpy!

Right guys, I've had a few Cuban cigars now but I generally find that the large ones are a bit too much. I had a Bolivar Tubos no 3 yesterday while in York and throughly enjoyed it. I felt it was jsut the right size for sitting in the beer garden for about an hour or so with a couple of drinks. I don't think it was quite as gooda cigar as the Montecristo No2 but obviously it's smaller. So do you guys have any suggestions for half hour to hour long cigars?

Try both the Cohiba Robusto and the Montecristo Petit Edmundo. Both of them are absolutely sublime.

Sometimes. Maybe once every few months.

One paradox after another, eh? ;)

Less paradox, more stereotype. :p

My ex girlfriend's dad used to smoke cigars...Had a massive humidor in his wine cellar and we'd smoke and talk crap every time I was over.

Must be about eight years ago now...Not that fussed about them these days.

sorry for the bump but i thought it best to continue in this one rather than start a new one. that humidor that was linked to on cubancrafters.com is now $150 - a most amazing bargain if ever i've seen one! so i've ordered one :P

i've had a craving for cigars recently so i've decided to start my collection. a mate gave me a link to www.solocigars.com, so i've ordered some off there - namely a Robustos sample pack (3x Cohiba Robustos, 3x Cohiba Maduro Magico 5, 3x Montecristo Robusto LE 2006, 3x Partagas Serie D No 4) and a pack of Cohiba Siglo VI. apparently their newsletter has some quality bargains so i'll wait to see what it brings.

Holy Thread Resurrectio Batman!

Thought I'd bring this back rather than start another one because Im interested in the Cuban Crafters humidors that I think Bear and Scuzi have. I'm having difficulty keeping my cheap Angelo humidor I'm range so I thought I'd get one from Cuban Crafters.

Only problem is that they aren't responding to any emails and I've even placed an order with them but no joy, they've not take the cash. Just want to know if anyone else had the same trouble?

As you know I have a humidor from them and they were top notch, quick delivery and good communication. I'm on their mailing list and recieve emails from them quite regularly so am surprised they arent replying to you.

Hmm, this is quite infuriating. I emailed them last Monday, placed an order on Thursday morning and I've emailed them again today. I've tried using both the international and sales email addresses.

I guess I should try calling them tomorrow.
