Anyone know where I might be able to buy a reasonably priced cigar sampler? Just looking for something for a "beginner"! The ones in the states seem to work out at about £20-£30, the ones here are from about £60++.

Would prefer a UK place if possible.....

Its a ready made pack / small collection of different cigars i.e. different brands, sizes etc. They are often available in sizes from about 4 cigars upto 20 - 30.

I was going to suggest going to a tobacconist but I don't think they're very common in Dundee. You should consider heroin instead.

I usually buy them in a local tobacconist, but these websites seem to have good prices, and good stock.

I'd recommend you give any of the Cohiba Siglo series a go, and Montecristo #1 and #2. Make sure you get a cutter though.

Thanks for the helpful reply.

Thanks for the retarded reply.

Don't worry, Tru just misses the Mardi Gras otherwise his opinion of Dundee would be much higher. ;)

Is is at least partly true though, I can't recall seeing many tobacconists when I've been out in town, doesn't mean they don't exist but they certainly don't seem common. :)

I always miss the Mardi Gras. I'm such a lousy shot with high velocity weapons.

They will start to dry out if they are not in a humidor. This makes them smoke hot and taste harsh which is obviously a waste of money. How long they will last will depend how hot it is.

A cheap option is to get a tupperware box and buy yourself a humidifier and keep it in that. You can get a small puck type humidifier and some fluid for not a lot of money.

Montecristo and Cohiba are the only names you need to know.

Disagree with them being the only good ones out there despite the fact that Cohibas are delicious. Montecristo is overrated but still solid.
Partagas are nice Romeo y Julieta is a good starting point given their mild flavour.
Dont forget a Cohiba or Monte have strong flavours and for a first cigar they might not be ideal.

I disagree Montecristos are over rated, they arent the best selling Cuban cigar brand around the world for nothing. The Monte No.2 is a damn fine smoke.

As you say Partagas and R&J are good but I wouldnt say a Partagas Series D No.4 is mild, as a new smoker it would blow your head off. : :D

I've ordered a small sampler pack from CigarOne.com.... they seem very helpful, looking forward to receiving them! :)
