Hi all.....I'm looking at fitting a cigarette lighter socket on my 125 for phone charging, and a air compressor for tires occasionally.....I have the socket...but I'm looking for advice on fusing it....I will be running it from the battery.

Will probably use a inline weatherproof blade fuse holder...but my question is....what size fuse should I use?

Any help appreciated.

:)

The way I did is by using the following. Firstly I have a Ctek battery charger, its a great unit and a wide range of accessories. I use this connected to the battery to provide a handy weather proof plug to connect chargers, bits to. It has a fuse built in.

Then I just plug this into the lead above when I use my sat nav.

You could use it to charge anything in reason I guess.

I've already got a weatherproof socket, so will stick with that I think...but I'm unsure what fuse I would need, would probably by a weatherproof blade fuse holder too.

Does it mention a power? Can you search for the part number online for more info on it?

Once you know the power, you can work out the current for yourself, then just use the next fuse up from that (eg if the pump uses 7A, get a 10A fuse in there etc)

I'm looking at getting one from this range with the matching plug I can't decide where to mount it on my Thundercat.

It's mainly to charge my phone.

Wolf 12v Digital Air Compressor Tyre Inflator+Light is what I'm looking at.

Will measure and inflate between 0.5 -120 Psi with an accuracy of 1 Psi. Supplied complete with 600mm of high-pressure air hose and screw on valve connector. Fitted with 3m of power cord which stows away neatly inside the unit

Not much info on it :(

Fuses are designed to protect wiring and connectors, not appliances. Normal fuse size for cigarette lighter is 15Amps, but this is only suitable if your wiring is good to this level.
