Hi guys,
Thought some people would find this interesting. I have been running the R24 Multi Core test with different settings of PPT to see how reducing the power affects the score.

My test system is 7950X3D with just PBO settings of Cores 1-8 @-34, Cores 9-16 @-21, everything else on Auto with just adjustments to PPT. Memory is at 6000, 34,34,34,74. System uses a custom loop.

PPT at 165 Watts, gives a score of 2076 with 12.58 points per watt.
PPT at 140 Watts, gives a score of 2062 with 14.72 points per watt.
PPT at 110 Watts, gives a score of 1996 with 18.14 points per watt.
PPT at 95 Watts, gives a score of 1912 with 20.12 points per watt.
PPT at 80 Watts, gives a score of 1790 with 22.37 points per watt.

I took screen shots using HWINFO to show all the key attributes. Suffice to say at 110 Watts the chips runs very cool.

With PPT at 165 Watts the points per watt score is probably out because I suspect it wasn’t drawing the full 165 watts given how close its to 140 watts.

Pretty impressive with such a reduction in power.

Is it like ECO mode? ECO 65W actually uses ~95W max. Or is the PPT the actual max?
My 7950X (RAM at 4800 cl40) gets: 1741 using ECO 65W.
Yes, the ECO mode will reduce this value.

I think the take away from this is you can run on a much lower power profile while still gaining most of the performance. It also means that any heat sink will do. Pretty amazing really.
