Hiya,

Really need some help.

I have a Cisco Aironet 702i AP to set up for a client of mine at work and have absolutely no idea how to access the GUI and cannot find the AP's default IP address.

I have the AP plugged into the clients network and powered up and cannot find any documentation online to help set the bloody thing up and Cisco are no help either, as we are not a Cisco partner, they will not help (selfish bas***ds)

So any help would be appreciated.

You'll have to access it via CLI using a console program such as Putty, if it's already been configured you should be able to work out the rest.

You can access this via a console cable if you do not know the IP address. If it's been configured correctly you should be able to access it via SSH. If not done correctly telnet should also work.

I can give you a basic configuration if you like but it will only be single SSID.

What's the model number? Because you might have a controller-based unit which is no good for you.

You could get Cisco support if you had SMARTnet cover on the unit, but other than that you're on your own. I'm assuming that someone just purchased this without really doing any research?

Indeed, the stand alone version is SAP702I

● AIR-CAP702I-x-K9 - Dual-band controller-based 802.11a/g/n
● AIR-SAP702I-x-K9 - Dual-band stand-alone 802.11a/g/n
