Cisco ASA Upgrade

I need to carry out an upgrade to ASA and ASDM on our Cisco 5510 unit. I need to upgrade DRAM and Flash Memory and then go from 8.0(4) to 8.2 and then 8.2 to 8.3.

Does anyone know how long the actual ASA upgrade will take as I need to plan for downtime? We don't have a failover pair so can't employ the zero downtime path.

Took me an hour including time to fit it all and test to upgrade the ASA and ASDM. Just take your time its simple todo.

Thanks - did you need to alter your NAT configuration when you went to 8.3 given the re-work of 8.3?

The auto upgrade process will manage 8.2>8.3 but your config will look horrendous after.

Suggest learning the new object group process and manually doing that aspect of it
