Cisco IOS upgrades

I am going to update the IOS on my 857w router. The documentation i have found is for the 800 series routers but with no specific mention of the 857 range.

Are those instructions correct for the router I have, thanks!

Can't see why it would be any different. That's how i updated the IOS on my all my Cisco routers.

Well everything worked up to the point where i tried to copy the new IOS to the router.

I got the following error:

Error opening tftp://10.10.10.11/c850-advsecurityk9-mz.124-11.T.bin (Permission denied)

So backing up the old IOS and your config worked fine?

Yes it did. Its in the root of the tftp server folder on my laptop as we speak.

I can ping the laptop from the router too.

my guess would be the TFTP server isn't set to transmit and recieve????
