hi people,
I've noticed a scraping of the rear brakes when pressure is applied to them on my citroen c3 which tells me they might need replacing!
If i can save some money and have a go myself then im willing...im just wondering how easy it is?
ive replaced pads etc from my fazer1000 so am thinking that a car's brakes are the same principle? seeing as i have'nt got a haynes manual for the car is there any online guides to look over?
cheers for any help/ advice.
regards,
steve.

haynes manuals are over rated imho

not enough photos, and the ones they do have, are black and white and small and low resolution

i went looking in one for instructions on how to change my front fog light bulb. Turns out its a "take the bumper off" job or "take the arch liner off job" and the instruction was brief at best

Have a read up, apparently changing discs / pads is one of the easier thing you can do as you just undo the caliper, leave it hanging to one side, unscrew the disc. Remove, slide out pads, replace pads and do everything back up.

Fairly easy to do as said above (although personally I wouldn't leave the caliper swinging by the brake line!)

The disc is more than likely held on by the wheel, so once you have the caliper unbolted it should just come off (might need a light tap). If your discs need replacing now is the time to do it!

Pads should just unclip from the caliper and you will then need to wind or push the piston back into the caliper. A g-clamp carefully applied will do the trick but make sure that you take the cap off your brake fluid reservoir first or you'll either not manage to get it back in at all or the cap will pop off and fluid will go everywhere! You might need to keep an eye on the fluid level too as if it overflows it can corrode paint etc.

Once its all back together don't forget to pump the brakes a few times before you drive off else you will get a nasty surprise when you next try to stop!

obviously you should support it somewhere rather than leave it dangling like a horses bits

but i was trying to describe how it looks when it comes off :)
