I have the 2010 version and love it (i think im the only person to like it.. lol) And im tempted to get the 2011 version yet im slightly worried. The 2010 version has some graphic bugs that make the screen slightly jerky when scrolling -_- which really winds me up. Apart from that i love it!

Is the 2011 verison much diffrent from the 2010 version? If so What are the main changes? Also is the scrolling smooth rather that laggy/jerky?? thanks :)

I bought 2011 xl and played it on the rig in sig, panning anywhere near ground level resulted in a near slideshow on even low settings!

If you have a lot of stuff on screen, even a normal amount of stuff you have to be looking from space almost to get the game running smoothly, well on my rig anyway.

The game is clearly un optimized as it is not even that nice looking, I would avoid for the time being most certainly.

Ah okay then ill steer clear for now! Thanks for the heads up... -sigh- Why cant they just bring out a sim city 5 and a roller coaster tycoon 4... My life would be so much happier :'(

There is a beta available for a game called cities in motion which might be what youre looking for, Im guessing from the name that theres a heavy transport aspect to the game and its about keeping a efficient flow of traffic through your city.

Also I read on the cities xl forums that the bad performance is only with the digital version, the retail version allegedly performs ok.

..really?:O I didnt think there would have been any diff between versions. Shows what i know lol

It is pretty much exactly same with addition of some extra mass transit and obviously the trading system is made totally single player from start this time. Performs ok for me unless watching a video at same time on other monitor and I have to have atmospheric detail or something off or else it drops to 2 fps zoomed all the way out. Without that on I get 150 fps all the time. Am playing with trees on low though as I don't play much for the visuals. I'd advise using riva tuner d3doverrider to enable vsync though as it uses a lot of gpu for no extra gain if you have a high end card. So yeh it's pretty much the same game, still no multi core support.
