Anyone else looking forward to this?

official site

Not exactly a new "sim city" game, but a follow on from City Life which incorporates Sim City style play.

Interesting aspect is the GEM's which will effectively be "Tycoon" style add-on's (at a cost £) giving games within the main game. These's are based on several business models such as ski-resorts, car manufacturing, airports etc.

Rumoured realease date is August this year.

Trailers are worth looking at to get a feel:

Other interesting aspect is online play but I'm still not entirely sure how that will work.

Was just looking at the website for this, checking out its progress.

Im looking forward to it and will probably buy the airport management addon :). It looks really ambitious.

If they can get it right and from how it looks, it does seem like a nice city building simulator. I'm waiting for the demo myself before I make a decision but hopefully it'll be good :D

Only discovered this game a few days ago, though I was somewhat aware of a City Life follow on. As good as that game looked I never really could get into it.
Reading up on Cities XL it really does seem to be the "spiritual" follow on from SimCity 4... everything I hoped SimCity 5 which turned into SimCity Societies would be.
I heard the release date was pushed back to August, so I'll be waiting in eager anticipation.:D
Only slight thing that concerns me are system requirements. From the looks of it, it's gonna need a heavy rig.

The Devs of CitiesXL also made 2 previous city building simulation games and they failed big time.

Lets hope they have learned from there failures.

So, anyone tried this?

Is it any good?

I am looking for a Sim building game of sorts and this looks pretty good, but looks can be deceiving.

EDIT: Oh, it looks like it isn't out yet.
