people keep clicking on icons in the web interface and it starts to open then nothing...

my google skills are lacking, i must be able to turn on client logging on the local machine (ica client) so it tell me whats going on?

There is citrix log files automatically created.

Make sure you have the correct version of citrix client and firefox or ie. chrome is not officially supported.

What version of xenapp? I would recommend receiver. There is big problems if people have the old version online plugin and receiver installed at the same time.

log files:
XP - %USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Citrix\Receiver
Vista/Win7 - %USERPROFILE%\AppData\Local\Citrix\Receiver

we dont control the workstations, we cannot touch them, they are V9 and V11 clients...

all 200 users (about to scale to 1000) have the same issue, some days worse than others...

its not a show stopper since you can jsut keep clicking on an icon and eventually it opens! (some times it will open first click)

logins are slow - it take 15seconds to log in even at 6am... with no users on the system

What version of xenapp? if you are on 5+ then i would upgrade all clients to receiver and uninstall 9 and 11 first, if your software supports it.

I have seen an old unused xenapp server in the farm slow logins tremendously, at one site we can an old 4.5 server still in the server farm although it was not used. After i removed it from the farm cwi loading times and login times increased fro 40 seconds to 15 seconds.

But it is not uncommon for citrix to come up with annoying errors like, unable to load application. Forcing you to click the application a few times.
