Need some citrix guru advice re xenapp 5 running on xenserver using provisioning server

got a dual quad core blade with 32gb of ram and 300 users at present - im thinking 3 vm's each with 8gb of ram and 12gb page files streamed with provisioning server?

we use ESX for the rest of our infrastructure but seeming xenserver offers big performance benefits running xenapp?

we have big issues with space and power - physical servers is not an option and im not wasting a whole blade for one server

Im thinking 64bit windows 2008 and about 200 users per vm which is going to need 4vcpus and at least 10gb of ram

I currently have a badly designed PS 4.5 farm running about 10 servers and 300 users.

Starting from scratch I have one blade and whatever software I need to make it run

I need to be able to support 300 users with ease and upto 500 in the future as well.

The benefits of provisioning server for server reconfig would be handy too...

Im thinking that maybe a half height blade with 8 cores is not going to be ok or will it?

300-500 on multiple virtual boxes - office and a few non standard apps and the odd desktop.

Im not concerned about the eggs in one basket stuff - I trust the technology and we have SAN to SAN mirroring throughout the UK so ample DR in place

Has anyone specifically used XenApp 5 64bit under 2008 yet before I start a POC test?

I'm sure if the POC is good I can wangle another blade for HA and stuff but thats the last of my worries at the moment

All the figures seem to add up so without anyone using it I guess its down to me trying it
