Citrix - MS Office problem

Hi guys,
I'm trying to work out what is going on here. I have a website which creates word documents from database info using ASP and HTML for the document content...nothing fancy...just some HTML tables.

the user of this website accesses it via Citrix. Now, before Citrix came along, this site has worked fine for about 6 or 7 years but now when the user opens the word document created and tries to put in a bullet point, it hangs the Citrix session! To confound the situation, this doesn't happen all the time for all users, it's random!

Any experts out there ever come across this? Google hasn't been very helpful. I'm thinking it's a Citrix problem to be honest (out of my hands) but it'd be nice to know for sure why this is happening!

The possible reasons I've come across are:
1. Corrupt Word doc (the docs all open fine on local machines)
2. The 'Normal.dot' file hasn't been created for all users on Citrix (not sure what this is)
3. The Citrix profile is corrupt.

Is the word application published and opening in an ICA connection or is it redirected to the local machine install of office?

I know citrix very well and dont really understand how you have explained this.

sorry, i'll try to explain it a bit better.

The user logs into Citrix and does all their work via that. They also access our website through that as well and so the word document is created from the website and saved in their Citrix account on the remote server.
They then open the saved word doc (still on Citrix), do their editing and *sometimes* on random occasions for random people with any given document, the whole thing freezes when they add a bullet point in.
