Evening guys

Looking for second opinion on fault diagnosis from recovery guy.

My car was driving down the road when it just cut out and oil light flashed before stalling. The car has oil and water and still turns over but will not start.

The recovery guy reckon it is a camshaft sensor he said this while just hearing the car turn over (is this even possible to tell).

I am guessing maybe dirty shell fuel (highly unlikely) or maybe blocked fuel filter or injectors.

Any idea guys or could it just be multiple of things.

Thanks

He could be right. Don't forget these guys spend all day picking up broken down cars. Your particular engine may have a common fault that he is all too aware of. Impossible to say over the internet. Get it into a garage.

Looking more into it last night and it seems that the camshaft and crankshaft sensors are highly likely causing it to not start.

Will go and clean contacts on the connector to see if it helps to start and will replace if needed.

Yes it would occasional cut out for a second while driving and about 2 week ago it started and had misfiring on one of the cylinders but went away when warmed up.

The car has done 150k so injector are also highly likely

yes it sounds like its the start of the turbo runaway.
especially at that mileage.

i would check the diesel filter just to make sure that is not blocked.

Will be heading to scrapyard heaven it has done pretty well tbh for a french car been problem free for 5 years engine wise.

Thanks

Yep i am hoping maybe fuel pipes may of popped off or split when i check later but really don't want to spend any money on diagnosis as car is worth faff all.
