A work collegue brought in his wife's 55 plate diesel Picasso this morning as the engine light is on and I said I would do a fault code scan. I've just done the scan now and it's come up with a stored code of "P0097 - undisclosed fault" and that was it, it didn't give me a description of the fault at all. I attempted to clear the stored fault code as well twice but everytime it would instantly re-appear.

Do any of you guys know what this could relate to? I've done a quick google but the only thing related I could find was something to do with the air intake?

Thanks all - Liam

my google-fu reveals air intake temp sensor signal fault.

is the temp sensor part of a maf?

I have no idea lol I have never worked on a diesel Citroen before. After a bit more reading it seems that the Intake Air Temperature itself may need replacing?

see i know nothing about citroens or their diesels either, but i do know the temp sensor can be integrated into the maf, which can cause emissions lights

I have noticed that the car itself still seems to run normally and it still sounds ok but I have just found that their really are no symptoms to this apart from the engine light coming on.

Just been informed by my work collegue that the engine light tends to go out once a day but then it will re-appear back on again later on. I've just been out to start the car again and the engine light has randomly gone out again.

Got another problem with the car now...

Work collegue brought the car back to me today saying that when having both the headlights on dipped beam don't work at all but strangely if you select main beam they do work! The sidelights and rear lights all still work fine it's just the dipped beam. First thing I checked was the fuses and both fuses still look fine (I didn't think it would be a fuse problem as both headlights run on seperate fuses). I'm puzzled to what this could be down to - any ideas all?

Thanks - Liam

I suggest getting a multimeter and checking the circuit for faults.

I'd check all the wires to make sure they're all still intact. I'd also check to make sure that the switch is working properly. I don't know if there are any relays in the circuit or not. If there are then one of those breaking is another possibility.

The car still recognises that the switch has been turned on as the dipped beam light still comes on the dash so I think the switch is still ok.
