There is one for sale near me, and the wife is quite taken with it.
Its an 02 plate, with 26,500 miles on it, its spotless inside and out, its up for £4,999.

About the right price do you think?
It pretty much suits what she is after, fairly good looking, sporty, lots of things to go wrong with it, IE Air con, computer etc etc.

Anything else that is that young, in that kind of condition, with that kind of performance for the money available?

Xsaras seem to not hold their value too well at all, which makes for great values buys at a few years old on the used market. As long as you like the looks it is as good as a Pug 306 but will set you back a lot less to buy.

Sounds like a bargain to me. The VTS will likely be a bit more resilient to the nasty residuals when you come to sell it.

way too pricey imho, I tested one a year ago, same year and milage, 1 old lady onder, it was absolutely mint.

Main dealer had it up on the forecourt for 4500, and right away offered me £500 off.

I might even have bought it but when I went back with my step dad to show him the dealership didn't take much notice of me (even though I'd ragged it about the day before), waited ages and the guy didn't come out so went and bought a 172 instead.

Next day I had a voicemail from him apologising for not coming to see us and offered me more money off lol.
