City Link delays?

Right, I bought a TV from the rainforest site on tuesday, and chose the next day delivery etc....
It's now Friday and the City Link Tracking says it's left the collection depot in Glenrothes and is on route to the delivery depot in Durham. It's been like that since 0:55 on Thursday morning. Well over 24 hours, and no update....
I understand its delayed due to the weather, but if it's left the collection depot, does it really take over 30 hours to drive from Glenrothes, Scottland, to Durham? Even in icy conditions?

What im really trying to find out is if it has actually left the collection depot or not... Or does the website automatically report that once it's scanned, and its actually still sitting there?

Anyone had any experiences like this with City Link?

Well I work for parcelforce and I haven't been able to get to work since Tuesday.

I bought something that was being delivered by City Link, was due delivery on Monday but didn't come. I checked the tracking thing on their site and the parcel was signed for as 'VAN STOLEN'.

Phoned Citylink up and the van had indeed been stolen, doh!

Haha, that's amazing. Good that they keep you informed.

Ive been waiting on a parcel from citylink since tuesday also........

In fairness most couriers will be in the same position.

I ordered a Sumo bean bag and they emailed me to say they are having trouble with City Link. Probably all the snow

Most likely the snow is causing delays .... quite a few people not coming into work due to the weather and Royal Mail having delays as well.

Im waiting on my new CPU from OcUK. DPD tried to delivery on Monday, rescheduled for Wednesday, there in lies the mistake.

I would go and pick it up but the depot is in Dunstable which is annoying as every other courier has a depot quite close.

I rang them up and they said they are working through the backlog and to sit tight.

I work in data systems in the mail industry and the item level tracking you receive as a customer is the same as will be visible to the carrier. They will be able to lookup the lorry that your item was on and maybe figure something out from that.

From what I can see on my end a lot of the mail industry is just shut down at the minute but it's worth giving them a call.

edit: Just loooked, not much mail is going into Durham today.

I remember ordering something from OCUK a few years ago, the citylink driver managed to get to Derry ok but had a heart attack about 2 miles away from me and was carted off to hospital, gutted.

Just phoned up. The guy says its arrived in Durham, but the website hasnt been updated because Durham depot is closed right now. I should expect it to be delivered on Monday. Grim...
