Not sure if this is the correct forum area...but here goes anyway...

Orderd my stuff online on Sat...had to go through the 12 months interest free bit etc. but was delighted at the speed OCUK came through, with a delivery forecast for today.

This morning the CityLink van pulled up, and deep joy, my order was here...but...you knew there was a but coming...

Should have been 2 packages...only 1 package on board...the 2nd package was on another van!!

I completely fail to understand why, with 2 packages coming to the same name and address, CityLink put the packages on different vans...

Still waiting of course...dare not miss the "£$£$%^&&*^% thing..

It will come tomorrow, don't fret. You present me with a courier company that doesen't make these kind of mistakes and I'll send you £1.34 via PayPal. ;)

some times they are good, some times they are bad!

i would be a millionaire if they gave me £1 for every time they said "the other van broke down"

I live in a very big block of flats now so City Link don't seem to be going the trouble of even ringing the flat anymore, just right it off as no answer straight away. I've stopped bothering with waiting for them I usually just ring and arrange a pick up from the depot straight away. Used to be great where I used to live before though.

Overclockers should have other options, I’d use Royal Mail due to the fact that if I’m not in I've got a head office round the corner, I can honestly say CityLink have put me off ordering some items due to the hastle i have if i'm not in.

definately agree with other options thing...

i started chatting to the driver now because its always the sam one when ever citylink send deliver to me and he even admitted that sometimes, they just miss a few items if they are too busy because he has a home to go to.

i dont blame the driver really, but the company as a whole should have more drivers if they cant handle the work load.

never really had a problem with citylink, other delivery methods would be good, but then I think citylink offer a good discount for being the sole delivery company bar RM

Yeh I always leave them message at the door day before the delivery telling to call me on the mobile because they tend to go away in 20seconds after ringing the door :/.

Terrible company, I remember once I had to go to their depot to pick up.... I dont have a car and it was awful, their magazine is in some village where no bus goes ...lol .

Got my 2nd package...hooray...driver said that one of their vehicles had broken down and during the transfer of load my 2 packages had got separated...ho hum...
Still, got everything now...:D

The worst one is when you get the "you was out" message, when I was definitely in the house! Lazy sods :p

Ohh ive had that one before, infact the worst was when I saw em pull up outside the house while i was in the garden, driver sat there for 2-3 mins then drove off.

Ofcourse i immediately called them and well they didnt believe me ofcourse, girl actually got kinda s***y on the phone with me lol.

I ordered something from a competitor and they shipped one tiny item on its own, which citylink "lost". However I got a refund the other day and it actually "turned up" yesturday and is sitting on me desk unopened LOL.

I work for the helpline for a govt agency (well a few actually, but one in particular). The courier they engage make CityLink look like the flippin Pony Express....valuable documents slung up garden paths (and I was told by a caller once that they did a job for her and left court docs that needed a sig to be legal, in a dog kennel, and 50+ corporate credit cards propped against a front gate), items "delivered" to random addresses, and of course " we called but you were out" when 3 people had been on round the clock watch in a house that also had a VERY barky dog.
Best laught I ever had was when a chap asked if they'd like to see the full 24 hour CCTV log from his fron door.....I think he was a bit shocked at my attitude towards him,....."go on my son, that'll sicken them" basically. Never did find out though. I would suspect that since they have called the customer a liar to 3rd parties (ie anyone accessing his file), that he'd have a case for slander/libel too (libel actually....all calls are recorded :D ).

The same shower deliver for certain pop ticket vendors too, and their fave trick there is to drive past the end of your street, so when you ring to complain, their GPS shows they've been at your door (they don't exactly use the mm precision models :D ).

CityLink are the only couriers I have yet to have a problem with. They have always delivered on time, and I have never received a tatty looking package from them.

Royal Mail on the other hand, it seems too frequent my Play.com orders come with rips in them etc.

CityLink are the dogs ******** for getting your good on time!

for me citylink are the best. the depot is a 5 min bus ride from me, as is the RM depot. but RM deliver to me at 3 (with my letters) where as citylink are always before 10am.

Next Christmas when you have that big case of beer, make point of making sure the regular driver gets a couple of cans. It works a treat. ;) Obviously not if you get agency drivers or several different guys sharing your area.

Rather than start a new thread I thought I would post this here...

Big thanks to both Overclockers and City Link (yes City Link for a change), I ordered loads of kit at around 3pm yesterday and it all turned up this morning at 8am sharp.

Thanks again for great service OC. :)
