Hmm, I'm looking for a new game to get and all 3 of these are looking right up my street. Unfortunately my available gaming time is pretty limited due to real life at the moment and all 3 of them are going to be big time consumers so it's not worth getting more than 1 of them at a time. I'm sure I'll get all 3 eventually but which order do you think I should do them in?

Regards,

Ross

Funnily enough Ive been looking at these 3 games as well, and have watched a fair amount of youtube streams for both EL and SG2.

Also, have you considered Galactic Civilizations 3? It is entering the next stage of beta very soon. I have watched a few youtube videos on this but can't make up my mind if I would enjoy it or not.

I think I will be getting Civ:BE first, provided it doesnt release with a load of bugs, as vanilla Civ V did. It looks like it could be a very cool addition to the Civ series.

Starpoint Gemini 2 looks like an interesting holdover for me until Star Citizen persistent universe comes out in....my lifetime I hope, but I am not sold on the gameplay - it looks very uninvolving, more like EvE (which I hated) than my beloved Privateer and Freelancer. Im on the fence with this game.

Endless Legend looks like a worse Age of Wonders 3 which I have already bought, so Im probably not going to get that one. Interested to hear from anyone who has played both games though.

I've looked at the Gal Civ games before but I think they might be a bit too in depth for me.
Funny you should mentioned EvE as I love it's style of play just can't commit the time to playing it so a single player game that is similar is exactly what I'm hoping for :)

Endless Legend plays more like Civ and Alpha Centuri mixed than Age of Wonders, and it's a fantastic game. Each race is completely unique, each playing every differently as well. Far more so than any race in Age of Wonders.

I really really enjoy it.

I also enjoy Civ, and AoW 3. They all play differently, and are very different, except for being 4X turn based games.

Thanks for the tip will have another look at EL, maybe I just saw a crappy stream of it.

Glad I spotted this thread. I've always liked Civ games but have never really played many other similar games. Beyond Earth is going to keep me busy no doubt, but think I'll try some others afterwards, Endless Legend looks like something I might enjoy.
