Nonsense??? I answered your question ... but anyway, the two games are completely different genres. What do you like? Do you like building up huge empires, micromanaging your cities and what is built on a large scale?

Or do you like fast (faster than Civ4) paced games with a storyline, lots of nicely animated units but on the whole a less challenging strategically game?

I own both AOE3 and Civ4 ... if I want a quick skirmish without having to think too much I play AOE3, if I want a longer game that I actually have to think about then I play Civ 4 :)

I personally prefer CIV4 there are lots of modifications, however it's not as good as Civ 2 :( with the exception of borders.

It's hard to pick between the two really, they both are excellent in their own right. I guess the main question would be would you be spending a lot of time on the game if you buy it?

original Civ was the greatest....gave multiplayer a bash on civ4 the other day, god thats a slow process

So you have played or you own Civ4?

In that case get the Aoe3 demo and decide.

I have both already, but never really play them single player. AOE3 is a great multiplayer game, team up with your mates and play against computer. Civ games are more tactical and more designed for single player.
