Civilisation III Help!

Hi guys,

bought this game awhile back but never played it.

Now, all this talk of Civ V has made me load it up but I have a problem....

Ive never played or seen any Civ game being played before, and I have NO idea what Im doing...
There doesnt even seem to be a tutorial from within the game (unless im completely stupid which is always possible)

Can someone point me in the direction of maybe some "from-scratch-tutorials" or whatever it is you think would help?

I would either wait until V comes out or grab IV now for a few quid if you can't wait. IV was a massive improvement upon III. Also, it has a tutorial.

CIV is tough to master - there's no easy advice other than persevere.

It really is one of the most rewarding games of all time once it clicks.

try www.civfanatics.com the forums there will give you plenty of advice on any of the civs. Fantastic games, worth learning to play.

Just play through a few games and you'll get better.

Civ is the most difficult cherry to pop in the world!

So, its just a case of playing it to learn what on earth the point of it is?

You can try reading the PDF manual or ingame civilopedia.

The very first time I played Civ II, my military advisor kept on asking for more soldiers, so I started making Phalanxes. And I didnt stop.

I were still making phalanxes when the AI had reached steampower on the easiest difficulty level o.O
