Civilization 7 on its way

I preferred Civ 5 over Civ 6, although Civ 6 did have some aspects that I really liked (Civ 6 multiplayer was much better than Civ 5 multiplayer for example) and to be fair, even though I preferred Civ 5 I still managed to get over 1,500 hours out of Civ 6. Given that I have played every Civ game from Civ 1 through to Civ 6, its a no brainer that I will get Civ 7 :)

As someone who has racked up, easily, 10,000 hours in the Civilization series, I am more excited than an excited thing, who has eaten too much excitement juice and is wearing his special excitement pants because its the International Day of Excitement

I put something like 1,300 hours into Civ 5 and almost 2,000 hours into Civ 6. Mind you I dont play it alone, I only ever play it on the largest size of map, longest game length, in multiplayer. Some of our matches take several months to complete :)

I reckon it will involve tiles and a tech tree, turn based gameplay and building an empire.
But square tiles or hexagonal tiles , whats in the tech tree, how many years does it span, does it have a new revolutionary tech tree mechanic, how many turns are possible in the longest game mode, is it full simultaneous turn based or limited simultaneous turn based and what are the limitations, can you build more than one empire, how do you transition from one empiric stage to another, can you play in co-op with multiple players controlling the same empire and how many empires are there in total at launch....so many questions :D

Well, they'll just alternate between what they did from the one before. I don't think anything will be revolutionary.
Perhaps, perhaps not, we'll find out in 18 days. Just as long as I can have enormous 5000 turn marathon multiplayer games I'll be happy :)

Have you not been able to do that before?
Yup, its the only way I play, but interested to see what this incarnation brings, after all I've been able to run about in first person shooters shooting people for decades but doesnt stop me from playing new first person shooters where I run about shooting people.

I've been a civ player since civ1. Civ6 never really grabbed me like the others (civ2 and 3 being the pinnacle for me). I'm just not that excited by this, but you never know.
Understandable, 33 years since Civ 1 and 33 years is a long time to be doing something. Not many game series are still exciting after 33 years (if they've even managed to last that long)

I'd like to see a giant combined game, a game which links Civilization with Alpha Centauri into one extended game, one where once you leave Earth to colonize another world, the game actually continues on the new world.

Sounds like they've made it more like a cross between Civilization and Humankind, with the whole changing your Civ at each Age start

Gwendoline Christie as the narrator is going to take some getting used to, I really hoped they would get Morgan Freeman

Yeah this is a really weird route to go down... Im completely unsure.... how bizarre.
Well some people wanted it to be different from previous Civs, changing your Civ and the map evolving as you play is certainly different. Remains to be seen if its good different or bad different.
