Hey guys, just picked this up for £3.75 on Steam, I know its old but thought for the price its worth a play

Seriously thinking about getting this, so much more in depth than 5.

Never had anything other than vanilla Civ 4, do the expansions add a lot?

Just got that two weeks ago myself, although as hard-copy from a store for the same price. I'm dead chuffed!

Beyond the Sword is the one to play and yes, it does add a fair amount of stuff like corporations and espionage.

Cheers for this .I was just looking on the net for the original colonization .This even made me finally get steam lol

I already have them all on disk, but I still bought it on steam at that price.

Turns Civ IV into a mythical fantasy based game with hugely varied civs and unique abilities.

Its far better than the unmodded version of the game.

If the game wasnt already worth £3.75 to someone for whatever reason, this mod makes it worth 10x that much.

Think iv spent about £70 on civ4 versions so £3.75 for it all is amazing!

Important line is GO GO GO GO GO! (and if you want to see why 5 should get better play the original 4 without any patches and 5 will looks like it should get good)

I just tried a game of colonization and set the map to huge but the world seems tiny .Does more map open up later in the game or something.I have met 2 of the 3 other major races in 8 turns.
I will give it another go tomorrow.Just not how i remember it

May try the normal game instead

Been meaning to get into this, had the DVD version of Civ 4 many years ago but bought the whole thing in the Christmas sale, are there any decent mods?

Bought the game so I can hopefully play it on my netbook

Ah, the guy who made the Fall From Heaven mod (Kael) is now employed by Stardock and works on the Elemental game, so theres pretty much no chance of there being a Fall From Heaven mod for Civ V.

Yea, he works on Elemental now though according to the last post in that thread, so no more fall from heaven mod or standalone game

I ought to give Elemental a try, but it didnt get very good reviews, I'll wait until its on a £3.75 offer on Impulse.
