Anyone ever used Clara as an isp?

Thinking of possibly a move to them, as this weekend the speeds on Enta have been dire to say the least. The new third pipe has imho not done any good. I know Clara are a bit more expensive, but all I want is a decent gaming ping & download speeds.

I was with them for about 7 years up until last summer, rock solid, literally no problems at all, just too expensive :) I now have a claranews account which means I keep my old email address.

Ah cheers for that Carter. Just one question, on there website, it doesn't say if migrating in is free or not. Any ideas on this?

Looks like it's free to migrate.

I think someone on here works for Clara, can't remember who though.

Be nice if he could get us some discount lol

Their internal newsgroups are pretty good on claranews for technical stuff/problems/questions etc..

When you join clara you'll have access to their usenet server, there are guides on the site about setting it up. Main supoort groups are Claranet.support .systems .cservices etc..

If you're into binaries they cap you to 60KB/Sec per stream but unlimited streams IIRC.

we use clara at work and they have been hopeless, but is in an account we have had since 1996ish so its been bought out by a few isp's in its time. (originally with a company called worldwide web services in warrington)

domains expiring, even though we have payed invoices, connection being cut because one £10 invoice for a pop account was missed (we spend over £500pcm), DNS changes taking weeks, lies from tech support on the phone (although this only started when tech support was moved to London, we used to talk to staines)

We are just completing a move to star internet, who seemed good at first but are being held up by clara not letting us transfer domains, domains from other isp's took less than 2 weeks, even ones owned by sister companies and foreign offices.

I see, was'nt the answer I expected tbh. Thought you was going to say bad things about poor speeds and disconnects etc so I guess the above wont affect me.
