We renovated our main bathroom about a year ago and one thing that has annoyed us since is the stupid click clack waste on the bath.
its in the middle of the bath and when bathing the little'un he inevitably sits on it at some point and 5 minutes later we realise that half the water has drained out.
In our previous house we had a pop up waste that had a knob that twisted on the overflow, twist one way to open and the other to close.
When it closed it pulled the waste back in to place.
so I ordered the same sort of thing for the current bath (note options are slightly more limited as we have gunmetal (or anthracite) fittings in the bathroom).
it has arrived and has the same sort of mechanism but it doesn't pull the plug back in to place, rather it just relies on mavity.
inside the plug is simply a lever that moves up and down and the bottom of the plug just rests on it.
The seller is telling me that this is "industry standard" and when I look online at other bath wastes they don't go into too much detail about the way the mechanism works
I don't want to order another bath waste if this is the case
can anyone shed any light on this ?
p.s. the one I ordered was £15 from B&Q and is selling on robert dyas for over £50.
