Over the weekend I installed an app for video conversion and the install process also installed Claro Toolbar. It changed the default search engine and start page in FF and wouldn't let me change it back.
Rather disappointingly, the apps I'd usually use to get rid of it (Spybot S&D & SuperAntiSpyware) were completely useless - both DBs up to date as well. MS Security Essentials was equally useless.
In the end I used the 64 bit version of Hitman something or other, which got rid of it.
I've now installed Malwarebytes - is that any good?
Ideally I'd just like to use one anti-malware product so any suggestions as to the best one.
I guess this goes to show you can't defend against 'stupid'
