I have a 4Gb SDHC Sandisk Class 6 card in my D90 at the moment and I need to get some more cards.

Now I can get hold of some Tosh 4Gb Class 4 cards at a decent price, not fake ones.

So I am just wondering if I will notice a drop in performance by going with the Class4 cards?

I dont really do any sport style photos, just landscapes, slow moving stuff

Cheers

Basically the class number is the minimum write speed in MB/sec assuming the card is not fragmented, so you would theoretically notice a 33% speed decrease when saving photos. I'm not a camera expert by any stretch of imagination though, so there may be buffers and the like in your camera which would negate this problem.

I'm a photogranoob but I've only really noticed a difference when writing RAW and wanting to take shots quickly without burst. With burst mode on the camera (FZ38) buffers it nicely anyway.

Personally from what you've described, I doubt you'd notice the difference Nikumba. Bearing in mind you can get class 4 4Gb cards cheap as chips these days..

You may well notice the difference when transferring the files to your PC as the read speed is also faster with Class 6. All cards in one class are not equal and I found that SanDisk Extreme 3 cards were faster than DaneElec.
