Hi there,

I don't usually post in this section as I'm not a motorbiker myself!

The reason for the post is to find out if you bikers can recommend a cleaning kit I can buy for a gift for my dad who has recently bought a Norton Dominator 650 (almost identical to this one: http://motorbike-search-engine.co.uk/classic_bikes/650SS-DOMINATOR.jpg)

I know you get cleaning kits for cars from companies like Auto Glym and wondered if such things exist for bikes, specifically older bikes like the one my dad has just bought.

The bike is currently in great condition and I know my dad would it to stay like that which is why I'd like to get him something like this.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks in advance,

James

I've seen the autoglym kit, it's ok but most of it useless..

How about a gallon can of WD40 ?, will keep it shiny, protected and looking mint if wiped over every week.

Agree with the WD40, I buy it by the 5 liter and its the only thing I really use to clean my bike bar a citrus degreaser for the bits I don't want WD40 on.

It would make a really crap present though :D

Autoglym is god for polish. Autosol works best on the bare metal bits (without a laquer on them otherwise you'lll destroy the finish!).

Hi guys,

Thanks for all the suggestions. The gift is for fathers day so I've got a little time to look into all your suggestions.

Thanks again!

James
