Just out of general curiosity, does anyone miss the white MacBook from Apple's computer line-up? I was looking on the bay the other day for some old Macs and saw a few on there, still holding their value as do most apple products.

I guess I still rather fancy one having a white iphone, ipad and all. I'd assume for doing work (documents, web browsing etc) a 2011 model would suffice? There is something about the silver pros that just don't do it for me any more.....

I am still using the original Macbook CoreDuo, I have no real urge to feel the need to upgrade although I do see the spinning rainbow a lot more now lol. Apart from wanting an iMac as a desktop computer unless my macbook dies on me it serves me perfectly fine for all daily computing tasks.

Just out of curiosity, how much does one go for second hand? Mine is a 2Ghz CoreDuo, 2 gig RAM.

Depends on the age but the unibody one I have seen for around £500-£600 used. A comparatively priced when new windows laptop is worth sod all after two years, another thing that is wanting me to pick up a mac.

I sort of miss its design... I liked the look of it, especially the black version... But the latest designs are awesome - just sort of wish they came in more than one colour :p

I had a late 2009 MacBook. The case kept cracking though so apple gave me a 13" MBP as a replacement.
I was happy with it other than the cracking though.

Unfortunately the white one is right at the bottom of the spec range for the time, I'm using one at work at the moment just for testing. I personally had a black one that I sold a few years back, both suffer from fading and colouring issues.

I grew up with Macs, with my first Mac being the original iMac. So feeling a bit nostalgic, I did like the funkier designs of the older products, including the MB. However, I can't say that I'd want to carry one around over my current MBP due to durability and size.

I'm still using my 2007 Macbook (model 2,1). It's a Core2Duo which I upgraded a few months ago with more RAM and a bigger, faster HDD - not because it was failing, though; just wanted to update it.

Anyway, it's still running like a dream, with Snow Leopard, except that the battery life is very short. This is to be expected, though, as it has never been replaced and the new HDD uses up more juice.

I don't do anything too taxing on it - mostly just internet browsing and using iTunes to manage my i-devices - but it's a testament to quality design and construction!
