Classical music and age

I think it's fantastic in films, as Williams and Zimmer show.

But for some reason I'm not often inclined to listen to it for its own sake.

That said, Grieg's Piano in A Minor is ... amazing.

I actually used to listen to classical music as a young child whilst reading Stephen King novels ;) It really enhanced the experience, and means I associate many classical pieces with people being horribly murdered :p

But as that shows, I find classical works best as an accompaniment to something else, not on its own.

I love all sorts of music, but if I had to pick one it would be classical.... and Arvo Pärt is my favorite living composer. Nothing comes closer to touching my spirit than his music.

Oh, and edit to add... age has nothing to do with it... I've been in to the 'C' word from my pre-teens ;)
