it does look nice but it has 80mm fans and i would much prefere 120mm fans for sound and air movment any other cases?

for a new case that narrows it really to the PC7 or a P180 IMO, unless you check out the MM or ebay for second hand cases...

im thinking of getting him a lian li v600 as its a nice small case and has a 120mm front fan or a coolermaster wavemaster for second hand

I'm happy with my thermaltake tsunami dream, and that cost about £80...

(well... i was happy with it, 'til i had to remove my hdd cage to fit the 8800... :p )

what about the lian li pc-g50 is that a good case for its size
that tsunami does look nice ill ask him if he likes it is the build quality like the lian li
ps i never knew how hard it is too find a good case around the £80 mark other than the pc-7 that case is in a leage of its own

The V600 is a great case - literally 60% of a V1000.

the only thing is that its price is abit over the budget so i he cant have it but i dont get is the pc-g50 is beasically the same but much cheaper apart from the looks

Yes - but the construction of the V600 is significantly different. It is a one-piece case with two side panels. The PCG-50 has a pop-off front and the metal is a bit thinner. The V600 really is gorgeous - if you can stretch that little bit extra, then definitely do it.

how is the cooling with the v600 and what cpu cooler are you using?
edit i dont think he can afford the case and now he says that he can have a lian li pc-7
so its between the lian li pc-7 or the thermaltake tsunami

I'm running a Thermaltake blue orb 120mm cooler and it's cooling my overclocked E6600 just fine - but it definitely struggled with a heavily overclocked Smithfield P4 - overclocked 805's are a definite no-no.

The best cooler I have had in there was a Silverstone Nitrogon NT-06 (It doesn't have a fan on the cooler - you turn the PSU around and that's good enough to suck the air out through the PSU - but when I changed motherboards (it was a P5ND2SLI the one I have now is a P5NSLI) it touched the bottom of the case, so I put the Blue Orb back in. I've also had good results with the Nitrogen NT-03, but that's a very pricey multiple heatpipe cooler designed for the SG-01 case and I couldn't recommend it over the NT-06. All the Zalmans will fit too. And the stock Intel cooler, of course.

Shame about the V600 - but the PC-7+ as the correct choice is a real no-brainer in my opinion. It will actually hold it's value come resale time too.

im gona try and push for a v600 but if not ill just get a pc-7 by the way have you seen any modded v600 or most of them are stock
