Well ive had my 4850 awhile now and never gave it a clean.

Anyone got any tips of how to get dust of the top of the card? Also ill open up the heatsink and get as much crap out as i can. I have no thermal paste so is it a bad idea not to open the heatsink up?

Thanks.

Get an air duster and give it a good blast with that. You can get them in TESCO.

You should be ok, I have used this method in the past, ideal would be compressed air.

Great, dont make me go tesco :(

Would a clean paint brush harm at all?

Well I'm sure that you can order some off the inter-web-net :p

I think that a paintbrush should be fine, just so long as it isn't crackling with static (don't see why it should be tbh, you're gonna ground yourself anyway as you're handling components)

Yeah, i was going to get some but i totally forgot :(

Edit - Im just gunna lightly sweep it over with a paint brush, will get back to you if i have'nt blown it :D
