Clean install of 10.5 from updgrade disc

Hi

Is is possible to have a clean install of 10.5 using the upgrade disc? There does not seem to have a option for format and install.... so how would I go about doing it?

Thanks.. I must have gone blind with excitement after buying a new mac mini for my own Christmas Gift... Is there a way to get it to install without having having tiger on the hdd first? I sure i can remember one of the older os upgrade discs asking you to put the previous versions cd in to check that you have the rights for a upgrade... or was that windows???
