Hi,
I bought a larger HDD to replace the 120GB one in a dell laptop, I then installed a clean copy of vista to the new HDD using the DVD that came with the laptop.
So far so good, however upon connecting to my router, windows update identifies 101 updates that need applying, so I let it do this. 3 hours later the updates have all been applied and i'm asked to restart.
Upon restarting vista starts to load and then I get a BSOD and the machine restarts, trying to load again produces the same BSOD, safe mode will not load and hangs at crcdisk.sys
Thinking it was a one off I formatted the disk and reinstalled vista again, however having just applied the same 101 updates, its given the exact same BSOD and refuses to boot windows.....
Any ideas ? Vista was perfectly usable prior to the updates, so assume the new disk is good....
