Hi there!

I currently have windows 7 installed on my old 160gb hdd, however ive ot a 1 tb on the way and i want to replace my 160 withthis along with a fresh install! Can i do this? Or does it cause activation issues?

Thanks!

Should work fine. Even if it rejects activation you can call the activation number and they'll gladly activate it. Done this more times than I care to remember. The problem comes with motherboards.

Very easily if activate dont get through then call MS to get activate - long numbers to write it down and you need to write it down 6 numbers every box when you hear from MS... No problems for you... quite easy do that.

If it's an OEM licence then it's going to be a new licence I'm afraid. If you are into regular upgrades then it might be worth purchasing a Retail copy since you are allowed unlimited installs.. Not simultaneously though.

I got the copy as my mate is on an it course and his uni supplied him with it but he already had it on his laptop, so he downloaded the os and popped it kn a disc an i have the genuine key too, is that ok then? Hope soo! :)
