I get the message when I use the Windows Troubleshoot thing that the connection / adapter doesn't have a valid IP configuration. Any ideas how to fix this?
I've done a reset on the router and it hasn't fixed it.

This is on a clean install of Windows 7 and installed the Ethernet drivers from the Asus Sabretooth z87 motherboard driver page. Nothing else whatsoever is installed.

Have you ever messed around with your router?

Sounds like you may have disabled the DHCP server on your router in the past.

I hadn't touched my router before and after the clean install.

I fixed it now- turned the pc off at the wall for 2 mins, reset it and immediately i get offered the Home / Work / Public and get connected up. Weird.

Anyway thanks for your help guys.
