not the best pics in the world, im not a photographer etc

the rest are here. http://www.picturevillage.com/photo/showalbum.php?aid=16848&uuid=3557

for a 12 year old car it rocks, but then it is german

yeah, need to work out how to get the grey bits to go black again. to be honest, its not that much of a concern to me, if the car looks too mint youll get some looser key it or whatever, it is reasonably subtle enough to go un-noticed.

anyone know how i can sort the bumpers out?

Defo needs some back to black on those bumpers :o

Apart from that it looks sweet  Especially for a 12 year old car as you said!

I paid the work valeters £15 and got is washed/dried/waxed/sills cleaning/hoovered/dusted etc etc basically the full works, as I'm lazy and went camping last weekend so the car was SOILED! :p

Won't post pic's as I kind of feel bad as I didn't do it myself :p

Small amounts of well rubbed in black shoe polish.

The end...bye bye...

oh, forgot to add. its done 146k miles lol

i'll start asking on the golf boards about how to bring the bumpers back to life, it would look prettier and more complete.

the next job is complete the suspension and maybe chip it. i recon it would benefit from some HT leads too. oh, and the oily bits steam cleaned.

it never ends, but its fun

If my bumpers were that bad I would either:

Disassemble and paint the black parts with Halfords black trim paint. This is really good stuff that doesn't flake if you use it properly

or

Remove, give 3 or 4 heavy treatments with Simoniz Black Trim Wax, followed by a hefty application of Autoglym Bumpercare.

might just clean em up n leave them. its only a one grand golf at the end of the day lol

Yeah I was just thinking that you wouldn't want the hassle of taking them off and spraying them, etc..

Try the shoe polish first but obviously only use a little bit and if it looks good carry on. It should last ages too which can only be a good thing.

cannot deny that im feeling oh so smug :D

just been out in it, in the spot light outside the is now so much more purple and blue to the colour. i didnt take those pics till about 930 tonight, it was getting dark

hope it stays fun lol

Get some "Black Pack" on your bumpers, worked a treat on my Peugeot... Also think about changing your number plates to the new font, makes a big difference imo.

Not a bad motor though, congrats.
