I was just wondering if its safe to clean the boards on things like a graphics card, sound cards and a motherboard etc with 99.9% isopropyl alcohol ?

Obviously you'd just use a small dab on a lint free cloth like a coffee filter, personally i can't see it doing any harm with the 99.9% version as it evaporates very quickly, i wouldn't use the 75% stuff.

Just thought i'd ask, better to be safe than sorry as they say.

Just make sure its fresh as alcohol quickly loses its purity in no time at all. Use it at work all the time and its renowned for failing quality control (but for histological tissue, not electronics :D)
