So yesterday I made the mistake of knocking over a really sticky drink next to my keyboard. It still works fine but many of the keys are sticky. I took them all out, swilled in water but a few hours later a lot of them become sticky again, and my only temporary fix is to take them out, wipe them down and replace.

What's the best way to give them a real good permanent clean? I'm using a Razer Lycosa so it's pretty thin plastic.

Oh, and when I say sticky I don't mean the surface, I mean they stick when I press them. Some press in easy enough but then return to default slowly, and because I type very lightly some don't respond as I don't press hard enough to break the sugary seal.

i did this with beer
best thing i did was take out all the keys spray the backs with wd-40 leave for a minute or two to break down the stickyness then wash well with warm soapy water allow to dry hey presto back to new again.

if the actual board has become sticky use wd-40 in a cloth when i say board i mean under the keys the sticky out pegs wipe them with wd-40 and cloth or toothbrush works very well..

(having 5 kids i found this works best )

temporary fix - spray them with hairspray, sounds nuts but trust me it works :D

long term as jimmy said really wd-40 or label remover, make sure if you use soap it has no bleach in it or you will discolour the keys
