Hey guys,

Just a quickie. Im planning on cleaning my Logitech G19 later and so id love to get some tips on what to do and not to do. Ive cleaned keyboard in the past but even then im not sure if I was doing a good job or not.

Because the G19 is a pretty pricey keyboard however I don't really want to just dive in and start doing the wrong things. I really can't afford to replace it right now so something that doesn't screw it up is definately a good idea!

All feedback is awesome.

Thanks in advance!

Very well actually. I just spray it all over, give it a minute and use the serrated sponge to wipe backwards and forwards. Gets in between all the keys. Then wipe down with the cloth. Can`t fault it.
Might get a couple meself and stock up.

+1 on compressed air, there's the good old turn it upside down and shake it method too which provides a basic clean for the filthy keyboard users xD

That`s OK for dust, but not the grim that accumalates around the buttons.;)

Yea ive done the upside down with compressed air method and it did wonders for the loose dust. Now im left with gungy stuff so ill need to tackle that with something else.

Ive ordered the cleaning unit but I might just use hot soapy water on the keys for now and just use cotton buds for the rest.

I have a G11 and what I did was, took a picture of the key layout, removed all the keys and put them in a tub of warm soapy water, shook vigorously and left overnight, repeated the next day and rinced it. I then took the rest of the keyboard apart and put it in the dishwasher and dried it vigorousrly. Put everything back together. Worked like a charm :D

I'm with Temi_D particularly with my older keyboards, photographed the layout, pulled the keys which went in a pillow case and then the washing machine, the board itself went in a sink of soapy water, rinsed under a tap then in the cupboard with the boiler.

I think that is probably a little over the top unless of serious muck after coffee spillage and the like and with my mech boards I tend to be a little more caring.

That looks like an interesting product but im a bit uneasy about pressing something onto my keyboard. Im gonna stick with the compressed air and the other thingy first but thanks for the feedback!

I've got some myself to clean my Qpad MK-85 and it works a treat, I use a can of compressed air before just to blow out the crap from underneath the keys though.
