Hey,

Does anyone have any tips / products for a streakfree finish on a monitor screen? I've tried glass cleaning wipes and window cleaner on a microfibre, but I'm still getting streaks and lines on the screen. Especially when there is sunlight in the room.

Cheers, Mike

Just use a dry microfibre cloth , and don't use too much force.

If needed you can also use two clean microfibres - rinse one under the tap and squeeze as dry as you can and wipe down the screen then use the dry microfibre to dry it off.

I wouldn't trust any one cleaning product to work across all types of modern screen coatings, and even with a microfibre you have to be gentle if the screen has a textured anti glare finish to keep it consistent.

I can try that while waiting for other stuff to arrive . I’ve pretty much tried that before I think; part of the problem is that our house is a building site so the screen has got properly filthy!

Dry microfiber cloth, decent quality fine one, though, not a pound shop special.
Or a slightly damp microfiber cloth for smudges that a dry one won't shift.

I wouldn't use a cleaning product unless the above fails.

Always be gentle, take your time, don't scrub.

Tried Ecomoist and wasn’t impressed personally. Screen was very dirty mind, but still.

Ended up going for a bottle of Whoosh! which covers all manner of screens and used in the Apple stores so must be good :D

Maybe it comes down to screen type; I’d had a wall removed in the room where my pc was so there was brick dust and all sorts; the Ecomoist worked well

These marks were ingrained into the panel, not just dust.

Ecomoist didn’t do much tbh. Emailed their customer services.. no response

Tried an old cleaner I had laying around from Betterware (remember them? :D) and it worked a charm.

Edit: the Whoosh! stuff come afterwards…
