Cleaning a rad before installation

I remember reading a while back that you should clean a rad before you connect it up to a loop. Now will submerged in a bowl of water suffice? I do remember something about submerging in a vinegar solution.... is this right or not? Thanks

50/50 mix of water and vinegar... pour it in and leave it for 2 hours...

OUTSIDE connect a hosepipe upto one of the barbs (hosepipe is 1/2"

) using a hoseclip.. Turn hosepipe on to full wack for a few minutes.... That will get rid of the worst of it.
