Well I'm sure youve all seem my BMW e36 328i I bought the other week.
Yesterday i attempted to clean the wheels using some basic cleaning products and they didnt make a dent.
It looks like the wheels have been powder coated then the rims polished. But now the rims have dulled and are covered in what looks like tar?

Any advice on what to do to remove this or am I gonna have to sand it back and autosol it?

Cheers

Rob.

use WD40 to remove the tar if you've got some lieing around. Just make sure you use a degreaser afterwards to remove it.

Alternatively nip to halfords for some Autoglymn Tar and Glue Remover for about £5. no degreaser required as its a produt designed for the job.

As for how to polish. Autosol Metal polish and a dremel with polishing bit. If you havent got one of them (or something similar) then lots of elbow grease. But it will take hours, much better to get (or borrow) a dremel or similar.

I have a dremel copycat thing but it aint much cop. Ill pop down halfords tomorrow and grab some of that autoglym stuff. Cheers:)
