Got a Lian Li A70F case here, great case but it gets dirty very quickly and shows up the slightest mark when touched, room is kept pretty clean, ive tried with a damp cloth but it tends to leave streaks, would it be ok to use furniture polish on a case finished in brushed aluminium.

I just googled the thread title.

Vodka, anti static foam cleaner, baby oil, vinegar. all come back as results.

Will perhaps invest in a can of anti static foam cleaner, couldnt waste good vodka on a case tbh guys.:D

WD40 = non abrasive
Soft cloth (particually microfibre) = same.

If you want to see if something will scratch apply to the data side of a CD first as a test. CD's have a simular scratch resistance (well we are talking swirl or marr at this level) to the softer car paints.

Kae2, dont talk rubbish mate.

I suspect its anodized, as ive bought a few lian li bezels and pci slot covers which have all been black anodized, the finish is very similair to my old akasa eclipse 62, which i know for certain is anodized.

EDIT: Yep, it is anodized, found this on another site, cant link as theyre a competitor.

User Interface is very important key in Lian Li chassis. The external fixture, user interface, and the internal structure all has been test to meet Lian Li’s high quality standard. Lian Li launched the PC-A71F, with all aluminum alloy chassis, round edge design with stylish look. PC-A71F has hair-line brush anodized aluminum finishing with diamond cut detail.

The A71F is basically the same case but has a door front panel.

Must admit it is great for removing tar :)

Ive used the ol wd-40 in the past for cleaning my shotgun barrels, great stuff. May give it a try on an old spare akasa eclipse case panel i have.

Well if it's anodized then you could probably just use a wet cloth this maybe a little washing up liquid to remove the grease...

It's pretty tough to remove anodization, you need really harsh chemicals, so you can get away with any cleaning product you want barring white spirit.... :)

Well seeing the title of this thread made me think when was the last time l gave my case a FTO1 Black brushed alumimium a good clean. So put the PC in to hebernate, searched the the alsorts box and came across Windolene glass + shiney surfaces cleaner its basicly water with clear vineger in with a blue tint.

Tried the Windolene on a small section and it lifted of some dirt and grease off, as its where l rest my hand pulling a USB Pen out and wiped it over with a damp microfibre cloth which lifted the dirt and grease off. You could tell straight away the difference between the surface area next to it was soiled.

So l just took my time and went over the full case with the Windolene + damp microfibre colth and now my case looks like new again, l would highly recommend Windolene for cleaning your case and by the way it brings up plastic too ie: DVD-Roms and your desk top. :D
