Ive got a white car so dirt shows up pretty well on it. I noticed this afternoon when i was cleaning it there were small black dots at various points on the lower region of the vehicle which im assuming is dots of tar from the road? On my previous car (which was white too) i used to get rid of them with a T-Cut type product. Id use the same stuff on the newer car, but its brand new so im not sure if using an abrasive substance is the way to go. Is the tar removal stuff that Auto Glym make pretty much like T-cut? Or should i use the stuff i used on the older car?

Easiest and cheapest way - get a piece of kitchen roll, spray a bit of WD40 on it, rub on tar spot.

Stuff buying expensive tar removers etc. Wash the area down after and apply some wax so it comes off easier next time. Job done. :)

A clean rag soaked in petrol :) Even says so in me handbook.

Wash it off afterwards mind.

(I accept no responsibility for your paintwork, try it in an un-noticable area first)

I always used TCut on the mondeo to remove Tar.

The Rover has black sills so cannot tell if it's mucky.
