Cleaning flip flops

Yep, fun thread I know!

So anyone got any tips on how to clean a pair of flip flops? I've got two really nice pairs but they're looking a bit worn and could do with a good scrub. No amount of elbow grease seems to do the trick though... Any other tricks? Was thinking something along the lines of putting them in the washing machine or soaking in bleach?! (They're rubber ones by the way, no leather/suede materials)

Bleach will take the colour out of them.

Bung 'em in the machine on a relative setting and see how that works out.
