Normally the compressed air does it for me. I never seem to get it totally clean. It does help if your case has filters over the fans.

Unless you have problems with overheating etc you are probably ok.

I use a pastry brush on the layer of dust and vacuum it up. I have filters over all my fans too. Some dust always gets through.

I get the vacuum hose right in there. I know some people hate this and talk about static but it has never caused an issue in the last 15 years of doing it, every few months on countless PCs.

I think it depends on the hoover. I have a VAX that works just fine and a Karcher that is terrible. It generates so much static it makes the cats fur stand up.

Yeah, head to Poundland and just get a pack of wall paintbrushes, not the kid art set ones. I've also got a brush attachment on my vacuum, maybe see if you can get one for your model?

I bought one of those Electric Air blowers, was about £40. For what decent compressed air cans cost I think it is a decent investment. It has all manner of attachments and I take my card out of my system and hold the fan and blow through the card.
Then use damp cotton buds on the blades of the fan and remove as much build up as possible. I use a paintbrush like most people to remove dust off the PCB etc.
