I'm using the Speedlink Medusa 5.1 headphones (which aren't 5.1, but that's another thread). They have large padded sections that go entirely around your ears. These seem to be foam covered with a thin cloth of some kind. They can be removed from the headphones (though it's a pain getting them back on).

They've started to feel not quite clean, probably due to me sweating a bit while wearing them. Covered skin in the recent heat is bound to sweat a bit. I also made the mistake of using them just after putting a face mask on, so there are bits of face mask dried into the pads.

What's the best way of cleaning these things?

rub a little mustard onto each one.

Washing machine?

Bowl of warm water with washing powder/mild detergent

warm water??

No replies...do people just throw these things away if they get dirty? I know they don't have much of a reputation, but that's a bit extreme :)
