Quick question, I've got some Akasa Tim-Clean that was lying around that I was going to use to clean off the paste that came with my Fenrir and replace with Arctic Silver, but looking at the artic silver instructions it suggests that you should "NEVER use any oil or petroleum based cleaners (WD-40, citrus oil based cleaners and many automotive degreasers) on the base of a heatsink"...

EDIT - I7 + Fenrir

Meths. Alcoholic substance, it's a pinkish colour. I cleaned my CPU with it, worked fine.

Was slightly confused by the arctic silver guide though, I've got the Tim-Clean and it's petroleum based citrus oil cleaner which is what they specifically advise against on heatsinks, though I cleaned my last scythe ninja with it and it seemed fine...

I use the wifes nail varnish remover when taking off paste.

Have done for years with no negative results. Well the only negative thing is the missus getting an empty bottle back because I forget to put the top back on and its vapourised. :D
